Talent Is Not Enough - Become A Master Of Your Craft

It takes time and a lot of patience in achieving the goals we desire. A lot of strength is required as well. But if you stick to it, the results can be phenomenal!

Everyone on this planet has something to say, something to give. It's no surprise to realize that talent is everywhere. People who can sing, who can dance, are super organized or can do something better than most. But what makes the difference between someone who stands out from others who never reach their full potential? It's simple but I guarantee that it's not what most people like to hear.

Discipline....

Don't get me wrong though, it's not the only thing that will drive you to continue forward but it is the foundation to maintaining your results in life. Yep, doing things consistently enough until it becomes second nature. Even when you don't feel like it and when your extra fifteen minutes in bed just feels so inviting. It's easy to say that you'll do things later. When you have the "time". But really when you look at it, when is really the best time to do something? How about right now! I'm not saying that you should drop everything and just do something when your already jammed up but putting in a little something will always set the wheels in motion and create that productive momentum.

But before you go out on an all out frenzy and start acting on any idea that comes to your creative mind, it's SUPER important that you take the time to have your moment of peace and quiet for planning. Ideas are boundless in the mind but what makes one stand out from the rest is the ability to take that idea and follow through with it until it's complete. And that of course is the challenge! But there are tools and technology that can help you along the way.

Keep it clean, keep it simple and most of all, keep it productive!

Here's some basic tools...
    •    A Smart phone! (duh)
    •    Binders and posted papers
    •    Idea pad
    •    Office desk
    •    Organization Software

These of course these are no brainers but to use them to their full potential is what makes all the difference. A smart phone can be an ultimate time saving productive tool but it can also be the biggest distraction in your life. Especially when it comes to social media. I for one have been guilty with checking my Instagram or Facebook status more than I should. But hey that goes with the tools we've got, it's all about how we use them!

When it comes to creativity, to me it's all about cultivating that artistic mind we all posses in one way or other. Some of my practices is finding books on art apart from photography and studying great masters from the past. If studied long enough you'll start to realize that these great people tend to all have something in common. They poured their heart and soul into their creation. Hours upon hours of trail and error to make that one simple line or musical note just right. Coming up with better ways of doing things so that the next time it would be done with even better execution. Think of it as an athlete training for the Olympics or a boxer training for that next big fight. Getting focused and pushing yourself to excellence may seem small in the moment but over the long term, your talent will compound and appear that you came out of nowhere. But in reality, you inched ever so slowly to the plateau that's been your ideal.

What we fear will only go away if we take on that fear. Once you face it, that fear shrinks to it's original size...nothing at all.

Once you start and commit to it a little each day, you'll start to build it into a habit. And once it's a habit then the work won't be as difficult anymore. Making it second nature to do so. That in turn makes it easier to take on the next challenge that seems way to overwhelming to begin with. And by the end of it you'll be on top of mountain you set yourself to climb. Looking back you'll thank every trip and fall that came with it and ready to take on that new mountain you set your sights on. In essence, it's never ending to how much we can achieve. All you have to do is start, fail a WHOLE lot then continue once more. Persistence is the only way.

So basically what I'm saying here is to be your own creator. Mold your life the way you see fit. The beauty of the human mind is the ability to create anything we desire. Of course we have to follow certain physical laws but with enough time and patience any idea in our mind can be created if worked on long enough. Once you understand this then as they say, "the world is your oyster" or "it's your blank canvas" to make it as you please. So find the creator within and mold your ideas into reality. Work hard, play hard and enjoy the gifts it brings but most importantly the process and journey along the way!
