Rest and Relaxation

Sometimes we need empty spaces in our lives to receive new and different information. When we're in the mode of always working, we tend to forget all that's around us and focus solely on the task at hand. Sure it's a good way to get things done, but new ideas completely out of our thinking patterns requires us a little time to just open up to new ideas and smell the roses.

For those who love and have a passion for what they do, it's easy to keep going and going and hardly ever feel like you'll burn out. Getting up in the morning and banging out all the objectives you set out for yourself is a wonderful feeling. Setting goals and working day in day out is a beautiful process and it's important to cherish those moments when looking back over the course of one's life.

On the other hand there have been times when it's more difficult than others. The grind seems to be a little more on the tougher side on same days than others. Allowing to give yourself a break on the way to the hustle is totally acceptable. In a world where people are going and going it's healthy to take a step back and think about all that's passed and plan for what's to come. Renewing your energies and coming back with a fresh perspective gives your mind and body the room to open up to new ideas and different approaches to the same things. Giving it new life and inspiration to continue even stronger.

“A fire’s warmth is received by how much we burn.”

Starting off in the world of business is no trivial matter. It takes guts and a rhino's skin to take the set backs and constant challenge. The amount of stress can be so overwhelming for most they just sit down and give up. But in a world of doing the fire sometimes needs to be tamed to enjoy the warmth it brings. No one on this earth can do 120% forever. We are not robots and life would be quite lifeless if we drudged on like the tin man with no heart. The moments we make for ourselves, the moments where we share our time and love with family are some of the best moments in life. We all need to have them. A life in prosperity is incomplete without sharing it among those we love.

But there are ways to have increased performance at work. That way we can give ourselves the time to enjoy the things that feed our soul when the body needs it. These new habits do take work to develop but the payoff is so much better than staying stuck on the hamster wheel thinking we're progressing in life.

Make things happen and do all you can do. Just make sure your values and reasons are in harmony with all other aspects of your life. There are many tyrants out there producing for the sake of greed and destructive reasons. Reflecting on our actions keep us sane.

The general consensus between most health practitioners, philosophers and scientists is that our bodies are housed in 3 broad categories. The body, mind and soul. Each one has it's particular needs and wants which have to be nurtured and taken care of. The first step to a balanced work life is getting yourself acquainted with them. Read books and seek out what gives these aspects fulfillment. Only then we're be able to take control of life in a way that keeps flowing in a sane and healthy way will we understand the balance.

Here's a list of topics you can look into...

  • Meditation and awareness

  • Physical exercise and performance

  • Positive and self development

  • Nutrition and natural medicine

  • Communication

  • Mentors and teachers

By no means do we need to have all these points on 100% but they do feed into each other when one is lacking or needs support. There will be days when we won't have one any points on the list. But if we continue to improve these will become a natural way of living a life.

“Progress is measured only after it’s gained.”

It's important to ask ourselves why we work so much? If we're working to the point of exhaustion or neglecting all other aspects of life then it's necessary to put on the breaks and look within.

  • Are we trying to escape something?

  • How much guilt do we feel when not being productive?

  • Are we being effective in our current actions?

Life will pull you this way and that way. It can be hard to keep track of it all while the road can fork into hundreds of directions. Trusting that things will come out positive helps the journey along the way.

Having the time to honestly reflect on these issues suddenly gives you the power to have your life back. Make it your own. When you take the time to rest, observe all the things you have accomplished. Fill your heart up with the sense of how far you've gone. The journey is long from over but the road map can only be observed properly if you stop and analyze the route to get there.

Downtime Propels Go Time

In fact you'll start to discover that your down times are really a gold mine for ideas and inspiration. Before we can create new goals we need to stop the running, sit down and plan out the path. You goal setting will be some of the most productive things you can do for your life. Working endlessly without a target is the same as trying to get out of forest without your eyes and ears. Time will be saved and more things will be done if you know where your going.

Going back and seeing the vision we have for our lives gives us a place to fall back on when we're having trouble with perspective. Reminding ourselves of where we're going keeps us ready for the obstacles to come.

All it takes is imagination. Knowing that we are creators gives us confidence in leading the life we want to lead. Filling our minds and bodies with the dreams we desire. Creating the images in mind is the first step to making it a reality. That's what those downtime moments are for. In the end compounding the amount of growth we come to understand in life.

A lot of people I've meet have come to me with the adage of working hard will get you anywhere you want to go. But your not just wanting to get "anywhere" right? We all have a set purpose in life and it's up to us to tune in with The All That Is to get us there. Sure work hard but only once you have a clearer understanding as to what your going towards.

Having the mental map will make the process easier to make sure your on it. So take a step back from time to time and build the dreams in your mind. That way when you rock it you'll be so much more effective in bringing the house down by not just living a life but designing it as a participating creator.

Keep Snappin'!
