We all want to make a mark. Today's world is filled with hungry go getting movers and shakers and striving to leave their mark in the world. But sometimes we all have to face the mirror and ask the question. How much is really enough? Do we really need to conquer the world in our pursuits for fame and recondition?
I strive to be the best that I can and I know that's it's innate in all of us. But sometimes i wanna take a time out and just reflect and actually see all that I've done and acquired along the way. During those brief moments of slowing the horses, I feed myself with gratitude for all that I have. And I've learned it the hard way. I think we all do one way or another.
But when you give a hard look at it, what makes someone great? What makes someone remembered after they're dead and gone? Do we really have to create the great Babylonian Empire to be satisfied?
Watching "It's A Wonderful Life" when I was young, I had no clue as to the deep and powerful message this old American tale provided. But looking at it recently it has really put things into perspective on what true success means. Being great is not about the castle in the sky but it's about giving the castle to those who are in need. No amount of money can buy the satisfaction of sharing and giving your knowledge, presence, blood sweat and tears to the betterment of not "all of humanity" but to the people you actually see in your day to day life. That's want counts!
And we all have our moments of shame and failure that we are not good enough. It's a crazy world out there and people seem to be in it just for themselves. But a true giver doesn't expect anything in return. They just give because it's always better to do so.
So imagine a world where you were never born and see all the great things that would have never happened if you weren't there. EVERYBODY is needed. And we all make a difference in this world one way or another. So continue being who you are and even when people don't recognize the impact your making, know within yourself that your changing the world.
Be brave! Be bold! and KEEP SNAPPIN'!
